Christmas Day

Santa left a note for the boys in hopes that it would have some effect for the upcoming year.

Christmas was musical this year. Tucker got drums, two sets. One electronic good for practicing and one big set. Hunter got his guitar at Thanksgiving and Myles got a real piano which was moved with great effort up to the 3rd floor playroom. The adult visitors received invitations to a morning concert. Each one played individually and the grand finale was everyone playing at the same time.

Hunter also was the singer, but Myles wasn't too impressed.
At night we went to Erin and David's for dinner.  The kids made gingerbread cookies.

David was very busy making a delicious dinner while Larry supervised.

Looks like a heavy conversation going on here with the older young people.
We left early the next morning because the next shift was arriving (John was coming in from Florida) and it was a good thing too. A storm was approaching and it did hit later that day. We didn't get anything in Rochester.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a busy day.
We started out by going to the movies and seeing Tangled in the morning.  Then it was Burger King for lunch
From there it was to the club for some swimming.
After church it was to Abis for a hibachi dinner.
Back home it was time to set out cookies for Santa and off to bed for the kids.

Twas 2 Days before Christmas in NYC

We went to Greta's for Christmas.  We went a day early so that we could go into the city and see the sights.  I also got a good deal on tickets for the Radio City Christmas show which was really good.  We took the train in with Greta and did a tour of Bloomberg first.  On our walk to Radio City we passed the Apple store but didn't have time to stop.
Cartier's was all wrapped up.
Scenes from Radio City
Myles wanted us to make sure we saw the Lego store at Rockefeller Center
It was really cold that day and Larry didn't bring a hat and left a sweater back at home.  Fortuantely someone was giving away hats (for a donation to a homeless shelter) and we went to Macy's where he bought a sweater.  Macy's was really pretty and crowded!!
A stop for a picture at the library.
We had a really good late lunch at the Pig 'n' Whistle after lots of walking.
37th Street between Fifth and ?? obviously is the "Bead District"  so many bead stores.
Finally back at Grand Central which also was packed.
We got there before Greta, but she went directly to the train and got on the one before us.  It was a very good day!

Afghans

After more than 7 years I finally finished the baby blanket that I started when Greta was pregnant with Myles.

I also finished one I have been knitting for two years. Usually when we're driving on long trips.

Christmas Presents for Charles and Hunter

I just created this book for Charles. I'm sure he never looks at this blog so I feel safe posting this here before Christmas.

And this one is for Hunter

We trimmed the tree today and to set the mood we had Christmas music on and Pomegranate Martinis.
