Lifetime Membership

I went to Weight Watchers today, my first time back in Rochester since I reached my goal on March 24th, the day before we left.

I went to WW about 4 times when we were at The Villages.  That was always nerve wracking because the house we stayed in didn't have a scale and I like to know approximately what I'm going to weighbefore I go.

In order to reach lifetime I had to stay within 2 pounds of my goal for 6 weeks and this was the day.  YEA!!!  I maintained, in fact I was even less than my goal.

When I joined Weight Watcher's there was a sign on the wall that advertised getting a job with WW when you reached lifetime.  I remember telling Laura when she was doing WW that I should go, reach lifetime and get a job with them.  Now it's about 3 years later and that's exactly what I'm going to do.  When I saw that sign, I made that as a goal, so that I had more of a reason to lose the weight.  And if I got a job with Weight Watchers then I would have to stay within my goal range.  Now I was going to apply.

I Love Yoga - April 3-5

Saturday morning I did Yoga for the first time in a month. We went to the pool for a couple of hours and my neck was killing me after sitting in the lounge chair so I did some more stretching and we went in the hottub and it seemed to feel better. We played golf at Glenview Country Club after 4:00 and it was such a beautiful night. Just the perfect kind of night for eating outside along the lake if we were home. After playing most of the front nine I made the comment that I wished I had taken some Advil and Larry said he had some. He gave me Tylenol Arthritis that he had in his golf bag and it was instant relief. I could still feel that I had the pain, but couldn't feel the pain so I was able to play the back nine in comfort.

On Easter Sunday we went to the 7:00 AM mass to avoid the crowds. What a joke. We left to get there around 6:30 and the parking lot was packed. Fortunately the parking lot extended around to the back where there were a lot more spots. We did wind up sitting in the Social Hall where they had chairs set up and we had our own service, not closed circuit. My neck pain was now the nerve pain that shot down my shoulder and I did Yoga again and went into the hot tub too.
For dinner we grilled a peppercorn pork tenderloin with asparagus and sweet potatoes. I forgot to take a picture before we ate it, but this is all we had left. It was really delicious.

This morning, Monday, I did Yoga again and I could feel my neck getting better as I was doing it. It is so amazing what it can do. I did my favorite yoga that I found on YouTube when we were down here last year. Whenever I am in pain it works so well because it makes you hold all the poses for a long time that just help stretch out all the tightness.
We watched an episode of 24 while I ate my breakfast and then we went to play tennis. Yesterday there was no way I ever could have thought that I would feel good enough to play tennis today. And I wasn't bad, considering I hadn't played since the summer. But of course, Larry beat me, 6-1 and 6-3.

We went back home to cool off and watched another 24 episode. After that we went to get some gas for our grill at Lowe's and then to Weight Watchers for my weigh in. I was a pound higher than when I reached my goal but I'm attributing that to all the coffee and water I had today, plus food. Uusually I go first thing in the morning before an ounce of liquid gets into my body. I got a key chain for attending 16 meetings and a charm for losing 10% of my body weight. Next week I'm going to a 9:00 AM meeting just like home.

We went to Publix and then over to Lake Sumter Landing to check out the Izod store. I couldn't find anything but Larry got 2 shirts and a pair of shorts. Then we went to Sweetbay where we found a good supply of Schweppes diet tonic. When we got back we had vodka tonics for only 2.5 pts. YUM!!!

A 2 pt snack, Laughing Cow cheese and Low Fat Town House crackers (6) and the vodka and tonic out on the lanai made for a perfect end of our outings for the day.

We grilled hamburgs for dinner and watched 2 more episodes of 24 on DVD (Day 5) and then the current 2 episodes from 8-10. And then we continued to watch more episodes until after midnight.
We are going to have withdrawal when we have seen all the seasons.

Hit my Goal

Today I hit my weight loss goal at Weight Watchers. Now I have to maintain it for 6 weeks which will be interesting since we're going to be away the entire time. I took my official card with me and plan to go while at The Villages.

Chicken with Noodles and Vegetables in Ginger Broth

We had movie night last night and saw My Sisters Keeper. The ending was way different than the book.
Before the movie we had an Asian dinner. We had a variety of appetizers (non-Asian), soup, and then everyone had to make their own Spring rolls.
This is the original soup recipe which was in my latest Weight Watchers booklet - Dec 13-19.

Chicken with Noodles and Vegetables in Ginger Broth
4 oz rice noodles
2 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
2 Tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 Tbsp honey
4 quarter-size slices peeled fresh ginger
3 star anise pods (I couldn't find this so didn't use)
4 (5 oz) skinless, boneless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
1 medium yellow squash, halved lengthwise and sliced
4 oz snow peas, trimmed and halved
2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

Cook rice noddles according to package directions; drain.
Meanwhile, combine broth, soy sauce, honey, ginger, and star anise in large skillet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 5 minutes. Add chicken; return to simmer. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Add yellow squash and peas. Cook until chicken is cooked throught and vegetables are crisp-tender, 5 minutes longer. Remove and discard ginger and star anise. Divide noodles among 4 bowls. Top each with chicken breast and ¼ of stock mixture. Top with cilantro. (Oops - I forgot the cilantro),

Cook: 25 min
